Hong Kong Foundation launched

William Yip (BA SGW 67/ LL D 98) speaks at the official launch of the Concordia Hong Kong Foundation. Rector Fred Lowy was on hand for the banquet, held November 8 at the Hong Kong Club, as were AndrŽ Desmarais (BComm 78), head of Power Corporation and a patron of the Foundation, and Peter Kruyt (BComm 78), vice-president of Power Corporation and this year's Chair of Concordia's Annual Giving campaign. The first renewable scholarship given by the foundation was presented at last month's undergraduate awards ceremony to Chau Kim Ping, a Computer Science student from Hong Kong, whose first exposure to Concordia was as an English-language student at the Language Institute, run by the Centre for Continuing Education.
