Gabrielle Murphy 1938 – 2001 Her friends at Concordia were sorry to learn of the recent death of Gabrielle Murphy. Gabrielle had been the university’s liaison with the Loyola Alumni Association since 1974. Starting in 1991, these duties included the Association of Alumni of Sir George Williams University as well. Her retirement party in September 1997 drew a large crowd of appreciative friends and colleagues. She continued to be active as a volunteer, and she was named an honorary member of the Loyola Alumni Association. Gabrielle died in Quebec City, where she had moved earlier this year. The funeral service was held on Oct. 18 in St. Louis à Maskinongé.
