Bob MacIver leaving the university after 22 years

After an outstanding 22-year career, Bob MacIver is leaving Concordia University. MacIver has been on an extended sick leave since October 2001.

Bob came to the university in September 1980 as the manager of Purchasing Services. Never one to refuse a challenge, he became the manager of Printing Services in 1984 and Manager, Conference, Printing and Food Services, in 1996. In 1997, he was named Director, Auxiliary Services, which encompassed the areas of Printing Services, Food Services and Conference Services. Very quickly, Mail Services and later Parking Services were added to his responsibilities.

An active member of the Concordia community, Bob sat on the Concordia Council for Student Life (CCSL), the Advisory Committee on Food Services, the Alcohol and Drug Task Force, and the Environmental Health and Safety Committee. A gifted speaker, Bob enlivened many retirement parties and acted as the master of ceremonies at numerous events, including the Concordia Memorial Golf Tournament in 2001. On the home front, Bob devotes much energy to his large family.

His energy and good humour will be missed by all those who had the pleasure to know and work with him. Bob was a builder of modern Concordia services, and his legacy will benefit students, faculty and staff for years to come. Vice-Rector Services Michael Di Grappa, on behalf of the Concordia community, wishes to thank Bob for his loyal and dedicated service and to wish him and his family health and happiness in his future endeavours.

Patricia Posius, Administrator, Vice-Rector Affairs, will continue to oversee Auxiliary Services on an interim basis.
