Nabil Esmail, Dean of Engineering and Computer Science, has been elected chair for 2004-05 of the National Council of Deans of Engineering & Applied Science.

“This is a first for Concordia, and another indication of the fine standing of Concordia Engineering among Canadian Engineering Schools,” Esmail told CTR.

The Council comprises 39 deans of engineering from across Canada.

It plays a vital role in lobbying for engineering education at the federal level, and acts in partnership with the Canadian Council of Professional Engineers and its Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board.
