Lynn Beavis is appointed Gallerys new interim director
Lynn Beavis has been appointed
Interim Director of Concordias Leonard & Bina Ellen Art Gallery,
while a search is conducted for a permanent occupant of the position.
She brings more than 15 years experience in the art world to the
job.
She has extensive experience
as a curator and teacher, much of it at Concordia, where she organized
several independent curatorial projects at the Ellen Gallery and was curatorial
assistant in 1997-98.
She was also visual arts director, then artistic director, of Artspace,
in Peterborough, Ont., and director curator of the Temiskaming Art Gallery.
Lynn Beavis holds an Honours BFA in Art History from Concordia. She has
taught at White Mountain Academy of the Arts in Elliott Lake, Ont., and
the University College of the Cariboo in Kamloops, B.C., as well as doing
research and teaching work at Concordia.
She has also been active on several arts councils and boards in Ontario
and has produced a number of brochures and catalogues.
