A recommendation was recently made by an internal committee to enter into a partnership with a new food services provider at the end of Sodexho’s current contract, which expires on May 31. Negotiations are in the final stages with a successor, and a new contract will be signed in the days to come. In the meantime, there will be a gap in certain services as Sodexho dismantles its operations and the new provider prepares for major renovations of existing premises and several new and improved service outlets. All food service contracts for events which have been confirmed for dates after June 1, 2002, will be honoured by the new service provider. Vice-Rector Services Michael Di Grappa apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this gap in regular service, but assures the community that major improvements in campus food services are imminent.
