by Barbara Black A warm, informal reception
took place April 4 at the home of Rector Frederick Lowy to recognize Harriet
and Abe Golds $1 million contribution to the Campaign for a New
Millennium. The Golds are former Montrealers who have retired to the Bahamas
and Florida. The Golds $1 million endowment will fund, in perpetuity, 10 graduate fellowships of $5,000 each for Masters or doctoral students in any Faculty. At left are Abe and Harriet
Gold, seen at the reception with Christian DesRoches (centre), the PhD
candidate in History who was the first recipient of the Harriet and Abe
Gold Entrance Bursary last fall. |
